NBA Power Rankings

  1. Celtics-The defending champs will have alot to prove, considering the big three are all a year older. Can they still do it?
  2. Lakers-Kobe is ready after a Gold Medal win, and wants another NBA title. He will have a much improved team with Bynum back and Gasol for the entire season.
  3. Cavaliers-Lebron is on the same boat as Kobe, as he also is NBA title hungry. He will once again have to carry his team that still hasn't found his counterpart. But in the end this team will be there.
  4. Rockets-Adding Ron Artest to this stacked team makes them one of the best in the West, if they are healthy. Yao and T-Mac will need to play at least 70 games for this team to stay competitive.
  5. Hornets-Chris Paul is one of the best players in the NBA, and needs to lead this team to the playoffs. He has a great supporting cast and he will continue to shine as long as he is healthy. I expect them to go far into the playoffs.
  6. Pistons-A solid team who once again released another coach. I don't know how a team can stay focused with this coaching musical chairs. They are all veterans but are no longer the young players they just were. If they start off bad, this season may be a failure.
  7. Spurs-A veteran team that will look for another deep postseason. They are all older but have not done anything to improve their team. The West is much improved and this team may slide.
  8. Suns-One of the most impressive offensive in the league may finally be ready for a serious postseason run. They are one of the best teams in this team when healthy and start off the season healthy.
  9. Jazz-They will be without Deron Williams for a few weeks but will still be a tough team to play without him. Once he comes back they will be one of the top teams in the West.
  10. Magic-This team is more mature and is looking for a serious postseason run. They haven't added any big names but have Dwight Howard which is all they need.
  11. Raptors-Jermaine will help this team later in the season as they will look for another playoff berth. But it all depends on how they perform in the postseason.
  12. Blazers-This team almost made the playoffs last year, without Greg Oden. They are young and talented and will turn the West upside down.
  13. Sixers-A Big addition in Elton Brand will help this team go to the postseason for consecutive years.
  14. Mavs-This team is another year older and may not be the team they used to. Look for a decline this year.
  15. Nuggets-AI and Melo will need to lead this team if it wants another postseason appearance. They can be the best offense in the league when it runs and guns, but their defense needs to be improved.
  16. Wizards-This team is to injury prone, and is only good when healthy. This is not one of those seasons.
  17. Clippers-Can they draw the crowd away from Kobe and over to Baron Davis? I highly doubt it, but this team lost Elton Brand and is a little worse.
  18. Warriors-Losing Baron Davis just makes way for new star Monta Ellis. But what can he do with this inexperienced team?
  19. Heat-This team will be the most improved in all of the NBA. Wade, Marion and Beasley will help lead this team to a possible playoff berth.
  20. Bulls-A team that has the potential to be a top team, but hasn't performed up to it's standard. Most likely they will lose the big games and won't be the team Chicago once had.
  21. Hawks-This team hardly got into the playoffs last year, and took the Celtics to a game seven. They are talented but have not improved since last year.
  22. Bucks-A retooled team that will try to make a push for a playoff berth. They may be able to sneak in if other teams falter.
  23. Knicks-A new coach may be what this team needs, but is it ready to run and gun? It has a young team and players with talent, but it depends if they all mesh together.
  24. Pacers-This team loses Jermaine O'Neal and loses all hope for a possible playoff berth.
  25. Twolves-A team that is now nothing without the big star it used to have. Now it is time to rebuild.
  26. Grizzlies-Besides Mayo and Love, this team has no excitement. Sorry Grizz.
  27. Thunder-Kevin Durant will try to lead this young team who is in a new city. They will need the support of their fans to start off strong.
  28. Nets-Vince Carter came to this team to play with RJ and Kidd. Now both are gone and he still remains, but i doubt for long. Carter will want out of this team early in the season.
  29. Kings-A team that has not improved and didn't sign any big names. They will be at the bottom of the West as their weak line up will not be able to compete.
  30. Bobcats-Still not a good team, and may need MJ to get on the court and help them out.
